Rhythm of the Rockies has enjoyed an exciting start to 2014!  Fresh off the heels of their First Place win at the Harmony Classic this past November, they dove into a three day coaching session with Vickie Maybury, and then enjoyed another three days with Judy Pozsgay.  The tips, tricks, techniques and tools shared by these experienced and passionate Sweet Adelines will help propel ROTR to their Regional Competition being held in Surrey, BC, during the first weekend of May.

Rhythm of the Rockies have been nominated for a Barbie Award. Our gold medal contest set from Harmony Classic this past November in Hawaii, has earned us a nomination in the catagory for Chorus Contest Set of the Year.

Please go to to see all the nominees, and catagories.

There are ten categories for the first annual Barbie Awards. You may vote for your choices by sending an email to the corresponding email address to each category. Simply write in your choice and they will tally the votes. Votes will be accepted until midnight, January 6th, 2014 CST.

We are all so very grateful for the support of everyone in Region 26, especially everyone who came to cheer us on up on stage! The energy was palpable! How does one put 18 days (lucky me!) of pure bliss into 150 words? :-) Here is my attempt.

After 17 years with Sweet Adlinenes I’ve been to a lot of Regional Competitions, but I’ve only experienced Internationals twice— and once was here in Calgary. I’ve always wanted to join a group of my friends in Rhythm of the Rockies and go to Internationals again, but I figured I’d wait till it was somewhere I’ve always wanted to Hawaii....

Rhythm of the Rockies spent Canada Day at Heritage Park.   This year was our first in the Dominion Day Parade, but not our first at the Park on this day!  We loved strutting our stuff and hope the parade will become a tradition for RotR....We sang for the new citizens at the Citizenshop Ceremony, two federal ministers, and Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi!
