Phillippa was one of 10 ROTR members who traveled to Baltimore for this years SAI convention in November. As past winners of the Harmony Classic, our chorus had the pleasure of distributing medals to this years 1st place winners - City of Gardens from Victoria. Our director, Mary Hager and team leader, Linda Redwood were on stage as this years winner was announced. This is the third consecutive year that Region 26 has won the Harmony Classic! Mary also did a great job as emcee for the second half of the chorus semi-finals - a real honor for her and another milestone for our chorus. 4 of our members were convention assistants and you can be sure that they were all taking notes on what we're in for in 2015 in Las Vegas!
Rhythm of the Rockies started the summer with a smokin' performance at the end of the ride for the 12 Stop Motorcycle Ride for Fresh Start Recovery Centre. Our Flash Mob start was a hit with a great crowd and a wonderful organization.
On Canada Day we were honoured to sing for the Citizenship Ceremony at Heritage Park welcoming 75 new Canadians and then performing in the sunshine on the busy grounds of Heritage Park.
Summer rehearsals making our own adventures included Hawaii night and an evening getting into the spirit of lady Gaga as we took on the challenge of Edge of Glory.
Summer is here and we are taking a break from the rehearsal studio...but first we have a couple of gigs to polish off.
If you are looking for something to do on Canada Day, we will once again be at Heritage Park. We will starting off our day in the Celebration Tent, where we will are part Citizenship Ceromonies. Later in the day, at 2pm we can be found entertaining in the Park. Pull our your Red and White and join us as Heritage Park celebrates their 50th Birthday!
We return to the studio July 22nd.
What a Ride!
The sunshine and springtime weather on the other side of the Rockies were a welcome treat after our long Calgary winter. Members arrived at the Sheraton in Surrey BC ready to take in the events of the regions 'That's Entertainment' contest.
Thursday night we joined a full house for First Night, sang a few regional songs and celebrated the participation of our own, Rose Wightman in the Spirit of 26.
Rhythm of the Rockies has enjoyed an exciting start to 2014! Fresh off the heels of their First Place win at the Harmony Classic this past November, they dove into a three day coaching session with Vickie Maybury, and then enjoyed another three days with Judy Pozsgay. The tips, tricks, techniques and tools shared by these experienced and passionate Sweet Adelines will help propel ROTR to their Regional Competition being held in Surrey, BC, during the first weekend of May.
Rhythm of the Rockies have been nominated for a Barbie Award. Our gold medal contest set from Harmony Classic this past November in Hawaii, has earned us a nomination in the catagory for Chorus Contest Set of the Year.

We are all so very grateful for the support of everyone in Region 26, especially everyone who came to cheer us on up on stage! The energy was palpable! How does one put 18 days (lucky me!) of pure bliss into 150 words? :-) Here is my attempt.
After 17 years with Sweet Adlinenes I’ve been to a lot of Regional Competitions, but I’ve only experienced Internationals twice— and once was here in Calgary. I’ve always wanted to join a group of my friends in Rhythm of the Rockies and go to Internationals again, but I figured I’d wait till it was somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit....like Hawaii....
